After hitting the game-winner against the Utah Jazz, LeBron James got hit with Goat noises from his Lakers teammates.
The Lakers are scrapping for playoff position and need every win they can squeeze out. They almost let one get away against the Utah Jazz but escaped with an overtime win thanks to the greatness of LeBron.
After LeBron’s game-winning layup, the Lakers showered LeBron with goat noises while he was talking to reporters in the locker room. The connection is fairly obvious — LeBron is the GOAT. Goofy noises aside, we can leave the GOAT debate for the Goat for another day, LeBron is absolutely in the conversation.
Things don’t get any easier for LeBron James and the Lakers
This Lakers blew a lead to Jazz and allowed this game to go into overtime. Still, this team was able to get the win and make the upcoming game against the Clippers a kind of battle to avoid the play-in (or as you might call it a play-in tournament for the sixth seed).
The Lakers or Clippers would still need to win one more game at least to avoid the play-in but winning this game would allow either team to control their destiny. Technically the Lakers can get above the sixth seed, but it might not make sense to try win more games and stay in that coveted No. 6 seed, allowing the team to have a matchup with the Kings.
In the interest of being nice to Kings fans, Sacramento is a real foe in the West and should be taken seriously. Still, when picking between the KD-led Suns, Jokic-led Nuggets, and Morant-led Grizzlies, pretty much every team would choose to play De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis and the Kings
The Clippers will be without Paul George, who has been out since March 21 with a sprained knee but the Lakers will be on the second night of a back-to-back. Additionally, the Clippers haven’t played since Saturday so they will be well-rested for a game that will have massive implications on the West standings and Play-In Tournament.
