It’s safe to say that the Portland Trail Blazers have packed it in for the year. They’ve shut down Damian Lillard and basically every other player on their roster that actually belongs in the NBA. They’ve played some lineups lately that would make Sam Hinkie jealous. They also allowed the Sacramento Kings to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2006 with a 120-80 win over Portland on Wednesday night.
Portland has no interest in winning games right now, and that can help us win some bets, so let’s check out the odds for the Kings and Blazers in Portland.
Kings vs. Blazers odds, spread and total
Kings vs. Blazers prediction and pick
In honor of March Madness, the Portland Trail Blazers have decided to play a college lineup in the NBA. It’s honestly inspirational stuff and if they won a single game with Matisse Thybulle at point guard and Drew Eubanks at center then that might be more of a Cinderella story than St. Peter’s run to the Elite Eight last year.
In that game on Wednesday against Sacramento, they only went seven guys deep with just Jabari Walker and John Butler Jr. coming off the bench. I’m a big college basketball fan and I literally had to look up both of those names. I could have made them both up and unless you’re a super locked Trail Blazers fan you might not have even noticed. That’s how hard Portland is tanking this thing.
There is almost no spread that you could put in front of me where I wouldn’t just blindly fade Portland. Especially against a Kings team that beat them by 40 this week. The Kings beat them so badly that Sacramento played Matthew Dellavedova for six minutes. This has devolved into me just naming random players who are either rookies nobody has ever heard of or Australians who peaked in 2016, so I’d say we’re done here.
