NBA best bets today (Predictions for Malcolm Brogdon, Hawks-Pistons and Clippers-Thunder)

Tuesday’s are for bounce backs.

After a dreadful 0-5 night on Monday which included bad beats in the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks matchups, I have three NBA bets to get us back on track tonight.

It’s still been a great season (up over 18 units), but that’s no reason to get complacent.

Here are my favorite plays for Tuesday in The Association:

NBA best bets record to date

NBA best bets today

  • Oklahoma City Thunder +6.5 (-110) vs. Los Angeles Clippers
  • Atlanta Hawks-Detroit Pistons UNDER 236 (-110)
  • Malcolm Brogdon OVER 13.5 Points

Oklahoma City Thunder +6.5 (-110) vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a seven-point dog here, but the team ranks 10th in the NBA in net rating this season, while the Clippers are in 18th.

Not only that, but the Thunder are an insane 18-8-3 ATS the spread as road dogs this season, better than every team except Boston (4-1 ATS).

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander expected to play, this is a disrespectful line for an OKC team that is 2-0 against the Los Angeles Clippers this season.

I’ll gladly take the points.

Atlanta Hawks-Detroit Pistons UNDER 236 (-110)

The total for this game is set all the way up at 236, even 236.5 at some places, which is entirely too high.

The Detroit Pistons have played 14 consecutive games that have finished with 236 or fewer combined points, and they’ll be without several rotation players tonight.

Pistons injury report vs. Hawks

  • RJ Hampton (back): questionable
  • Isaiah Livers (hip): questionable
  • Jalen Duren (head): out
  • Alec Burks (foot): out
  • Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles): out
  • Isaiah Stewart (hip): out
  • Hamidou Diallo (ankle): out
  • Cade Cunningham (shin): out

The Pistons are 29th in offensive rating over their last 10 games, and they are playing at a slow pace (21st in the NBA) over that stretch.

Not only that, but the Hawks have listed guard Dejounte Murray (illness) as questionable, which would certainly change their offensive attack. Even if Atlanta wins this game in a blowout, I don’t trust Detroit to score enough to push this game over the total.

Malcolm Brogdon OVER 13.5 Points

This is a low line for Malcolm Brogdon in what should be a high-scoring game between two of the league’s best offenses.

The Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics rank first and fourth respectively in offensive rating, and the Kings love to push the pace (10th in the NBA).

Brogdon is averaging 14.7 points per game on the season, clearing this number in 10 of his last 15 games. While his usage from night to night is a little tough to predict, Brogdon should get plenty of chances to score if this game turns into a track meet.

The Kings are also on the second night of a back-to-back, so there should be some tired legs on their defense tonight.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
