Everyone may be consumed by March Madness, but there’s no reason we can’t place some NBA bets as well this week!
I have four plays, including a pair of two-pick parlays to get the weekend started. After hitting 2-of-3 picks on Thursday, let’s keep the momentum going tonight:
NBA best bets record to date
NBA best bets today
- Philadelphia 76ers-Boston Celtics ML Parlay (-132)
- Austin Reaves OVER 16.5 Points and Assists (-120)
- New Orleans Pelicans-Houston Rockets Same-Game Parlay (+105)
- Cleveland Cavaliers -5.5 (-115) vs. Washington Wizards
Philadelphia 76ers-Boston Celtics ML Parlay (-132)
This is the first of two, two-pick parlays that I have on Friday night.
Starting with Boston, who blew out the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this month, I think this is a prime spot for the team to bounce back from a rough stretch.
The Blazers are 27th in the league in defensive rating, and they struggled to contain Boston’s offense in Boston. With Jerami Grant questionable, I don’t know if Portland has the offensive firepower to win this game, especially since the team is on a four-game skid.
On the Sixers side, Philly is on a six-game winning streak, and now it plays a Charlotte Hornets team that is down LaMelo Ball and struggling as a home underdog.
The Hornets have failed to cover in four of their last five games as home underdogs, including double-digit losses to the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers. They are just 9-16 against the spread as home dogs this season.
Philly should win this game going away.
Austin Reaves OVER 16.5 Points and Assists (-120)
Austin Reaves has stepped up for the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James out of the lineup, averaging 15.3 points and 5.3 assists per game over his last 10 matchups.
Reaves has cleared this number in eight of those 10 games, and I expect him to take advantage of a weak Dallas defense on Friday night.
Dallas is just 22nd in the NBA in defensive rating over its last 10 games, so Reaves should stay hot.
New Orleans Pelicans-Houston Rockets Same-Game Parlay (+105)
- Jae’Sean Tate 8+ Points
- Brandon Ingram UNDER 6.5 Assists
This is a pretty simple parlay just looking at how these guys have played lately.
Ingram has gone UNDER 5.5 assists in eight of his last 10 games, so I’m moving this line to 6.5. He’s averaging just 4.8 assists per game on the season.
Meanwhile for Tate, he’s put up 10 or more points in nine of his last 10 games, scoring at least nine in all 10 of those matchups.
The Pelicans aren’t a great road team, so I like him to at least pick up eight points in this matchup.
Cleveland Cavaliers -5.5 (-115) vs. Washington Wizards
I love the Cleveland Cavaliers in this game, even with Jarrett Allen out of the lineup.
Washington is just 13-13-2 against the spread as a road dog this season, and the Cavs are one of the best home teams in the NBA, going 21-12-1 as home favorites.
Washington is the bottom-10 in the league in net rating over its last 10 games and just 20th on the season.
The Cavs should be able to get whatever they want against this weak defense with Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland both healthy.
