Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic will miss his second consecutive game Monday because of a left thigh strain.
Fellow All-Star guard Kyrie Irving, who is dealing with right foot soreness, is listed as questionable for Monday’s home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Doncic and Irving both missed Saturday’s 112-108 loss to the Grizzlies in Memphis, which dropped Dallas to .500 with 14 games to play.
Doncic’s left thigh has been bothering him for several games and has gotten progressively more painful, leading him to exit Wednesday’s loss at New Orleans in the third quarter.
An MRI on Doncic’s thigh Thursday revealed no damage, and Doncic will return once the discomfort allows him, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Mavs consider Doncic’s status to be day-to-day, according to coach Jason Kidd.
Irving was ruled out 90 minutes before tipoff Saturday. Irving said he initially felt soreness in the foot after playing 41 minutes against the Pelicans on Wednesday.
“The soreness is a concern, so when we go back [to Dallas], we’ll take a look at that,” Kidd said pregame Saturday. “Hopefully, he’s not out too long.”
