Robin Lopez and Brook Lopez continue to play out their hilarious sibling rivalry in NBA arenas and on national television.
The playful rivalry between twins Robin Lopez and Brook Lopez is one of the NBA’s most reliable sources of delight. Robin, who is also famous for his ongoing prank war with every NBA mascot in the league has previously said he was going to “do a little research” to see if his brother actually won a title with the Bucks in 2020. Before a 2018 matchup against his twin, he was asked about his brother’s biggest weakness and said, “Just general, overall basketball IQ. Actually, just overall IQ.”
Robin was mic’d up during the broadcast last night as his Cavs took on Brook’s Bucks and he called his brother out for flopping, making his case by sharing an embarrassing anecdote with the entire world.
Is Robin Lopez better than his twin, Brook Lopez?
The twins have met 27 times in their regular-season careers, with Brook’s team winning 18 of those games. Brook has also been far more productive in those individual matchups, putting up 17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, compared to 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.3 blocks per game for Robin.
Brook may have had the upper hand on the court with his career record and individual production, but Robin’s Cavs got a 116-104 win on Wednesday. And right now Robin holds the Lopez Family Trolling Championship belt for his sick music-theater burn. Robin and Brook will play just one more time this regular season, when the Bucks come to Cleveland on Jan. 21.
