Kevin Durant rumors: KD has gone radio silent on entire NBA, Nets included

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says that Kevin Durant has not been in communication with not just the Brooklyn Nets, but also the entire NBA.

Kevin Durant sent shockwaves throughout the NBA hours before the start of free agency after reports indicated that he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Even though the former two-time NBA Finals MVP has been linked to teams such as the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, and Toronto Raptors, but nothing has transpired in terms of a trade.

During the July 20 episode of ESPN’s “Get Up,” Brian Windhorst said that there has barely been any communication between Durant, his teammates, and others around the league. Not only that, but Windhorst also said that he doesn’t even think the Nets have “a 100-percent understanding” of why he asked for a trade.

Kevin Durant has not communicated with Nets, entire league

Things have gotten pretty quiet in the weeks after Durant’s trade request circulated.

Windhorst was on Get Up days prior to this latest appearance, where he revealed that Brooklyn’s “preferred situation” is to keep Durant heading into the upcoming season, as they have not received a trade offer that they like.

In regards to the trade request, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin said that those he has spoken to around the league believe that Durant requested a trade as a way to get teammate Kyrie Irving off the Nets.

Durant has been with the Nets for three seasons, and his recently signed four-year, $194.2 million contract extension officially kicks in this upcoming campaign.

The Nets’ offseason will be one to continue following not just in regards to the status of Durant, but also with Irving. Will they both return, or will one or both ultimately be dealt elsewhere?
