Chicago Bulls, NBA Free Agency

NBA rumors: Zach LaVine’s top destination clear already

Recent reports have indicated where Zach LaVine will end up signing at the start of free agency.

The start of NBA free agency, much like it has in years past, is going to be utter chaos. Fans are going to be keeping their eyes glued to their social media feeds to see where the top players in the league are going to be signing as free agents. One of the big names on the list is Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls. But where is his top destination just hours before the official start of free agency?

According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, teams that “had been courting LaVine through back channels the last few weeks” feel that the Bulls are his top destination this offseason.

Bulls reportedly Zach LaVine’s top destination

Additionally, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago wrote in his latest article that LaVine has told people that he plans to re-sign with the Bulls and that the two sides would work quickly on a five-year max deal worth roughly $215 million.

LaVine is coming off of a huge season with Chicago, as his play helped the team make the playoffs for the first time in five years. However, their run was short-lived, as they were sent home in five games by the Milwaukee Bucks in the opening round. LaVine did miss the fifth game of the series after being placed in health and safety protocols.

In 67 games, LaVine put up an average of 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting 47.6-percent from the field and 38.9-percent from the three-point line.

After the season, with free agency looming, LaVine underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Bulls fans, you can breathe easy. Of course, they will want to see actual confirmation in the form of the team announcing it and potentially seeing a photo of LaVine putting pen to paper.
