Paul Pierce roasted some Golden State Warriors fans while celebrating the Boston Celtics’ 116-100 Game 3 victory.
The Boston Celtics saw their NBA Finals lead disappear after they lost 107-88 to the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 to force the series into a 1-1 tie. But, the Celtics were now returning to Boston to play in front of their home crowd, which just so happened to include franchise legend Paul Pierce.
Boston defeated Golden State 116-100 to take a 2-1 series lead and bringing them two wins away to winning their 18th NBA Championship. Pierce decided to celebrate by going onto Instagram Live. As he was filming, he noticed some Warriors fans in the distance and decided to roast them.
Paul Pierce roasts Warriors fans after Celtics Game 3 win
Pierce was not letting those Warriors fans ruin his vibe, as you saw in the above clip.
The win was by no means an easy won for the Celtics, as the Warriors did mount a comeback in the third quarter. Yet, the Warriors went cold in the fourth quarter, putting up just 11 points after making 4-of-14 shot attempts.
Meanwhile, Boston’s trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart made NBA Finals history. They all put up 20 points, five rebounds and five assists each in a Finals game, which happened for the first time since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Michael Cooper did so in 1994, per ESPN Stats and Info.
The Warriors, on the other hand, are left worrying about Steph Curry’s status moving forward, after Al Horford landed on his left leg when chasing after a loose ball in the second half.
Game 4 takes place on Thursday, June 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET live from TD Garden. Will it be the Warriors fanbase or Pierce who gets the last laugh when the clock hits triple zeroes following that game?
