For the second postseason round in a row, the NBA has to deal with protestors interrupting Minnesota Timberwolves games, as a woman chained herself to the back of the basket during Game 1 of their playoff series vs. the Memphis Grizzlies.
Not even a week removed from Glue Girl in the Twin Cities, this postseason has birthed Chain Woman along the Banks of the Mississippi. This river is running wild on the middle part of April alright. Lord only knows what could happen if the Timberwolves were to advance and play another Mississippi River city in the New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference Playoffs this spring.
There is no reason to give these people any ideas, as they are already very creative on their own.
Glue was not match for security, and neither was a chain.
It has been a long time since the Timberwolves were playoff-viable, so everyone is in a rare mood.
Though this is clearly tied to Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and chicken-slaughtering ways, Memphis is the higher seed and should advance in this best-of-seven series to the Western Conference Semifinals.

With Taylor eventually giving full control of the franchise over to Alex Rodriguez, the often-criticized majority owner will be out of the picture at some point. Then again, this is the first time the Timberwolves have been consistently good since Kevin Garnett was their best player nearly two decades ago. These protests may only continue for as long as the Timberwolves are playing.
With a strong core of Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Timberwolves finally look like a team to stay in the deep Western Conference. As for the Grizzlies, they have a bona-fide superstar running the point in Ja Morant. He has the potential to be without debate the greatest player in Grizzlies franchise history. Here is to this series living up to the hype.
Expect for security to be even tighter after this latest protest during a Timberwolves playoff game.
