Two young NBA players are making history for their respective teams while also proving to be dangerous threats from three-point range.
While there are some players who struggle to consistently shoot efficiently from beyond the three-point line, there are others who find ways to consistently excel with their three-point shooting. Some players are even able to set records.
Interestingly enough, two franchises saw single-season records set Wednesday evening. As it turns out, both of those records were set by players whoa re just now in their second season in the NBA.
You’ve got Desmond Bane helping the Memphis Grizzlies have a spectacular season.
And then there’s Saddiq Bey helping the Detroit Pistons develop for the future.
Both of those records being set on the same night is remarkable. It’s even more remarkable that both were set by second-year players.

Like it or not, three-point shooting is a necessary part of the NBA and it’s something that, from time to time, completely defines offenses for some teams throughout the league. The Houston Rockets, a few years back, were enamored with shooting threes and did everything they could to be better than anyone else in the NBA at shooting from deep.
Sometimes it worked out well for Houston and sometimes it didn’t exactly help the Rockets win some games.
But, if there are young players like Bey and Bane who are able to effortlessly drain threes on a regular basis to the point that they are already setting records, then it’s worth expecting the future of the NBA to continue to be defined by excellent and efficient shooting.
