Leave it up to Captain Klay Thompson to say the Seattle SuperSonics should be back in the NBA.
Nobody wants the Seattle SuperSonics back in the NBA more than Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson.
With his captain’s hat on and rocking a sweet pair of shades amidst overcast skies, how can you not believe the gospel being preached by the second greatest sharpshooter of our lifetimes? Though he still has not play in a game since the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson is without question the most staunch advocate for the SuperSonics being back in the league. It has been way too long.
The last time the SuperSonics were still a thing, Thompson was on his way to playing his college ball over in The Palouse at Washington State.
Klay Thompson proclaims the SuperSonics must return while on his boat
Though this grandest proclamation may have more to do with the custom Sonics shirt he was sporting, Thompson is to his core a West Coast guy. He was born in Los Angeles, but grew up in Portland while his father played in the NBA for the Lakers and Trail Blazers. After spending a few years at Wazzu, Thompson was drafted by the Warriors in 2011 and has been there ever since.
Once Thompson retires, he will get really into boating and we’ll never see him again. Only the triumphant return of the SuperSonics will bring this Bertram back to port. Unless the New Orleans Pelicans relocate, the only way the NBA will be back in Seattle is if the league expands to 32 teams. With the NHL going to 32 teams, it is only a matter of time before Seattle gets its team.
Thompson is clearly living his best life, while being a massive supporter of the Sonics movement.
