Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler wanted to meet Nikola Jokic outside for a fight after the Nuggets forward cheap shotted Markieff Morris.
Nikola Jokic had beef with Markieff Morris on Monday night as the Nuggets battled the Heat. When he took it way too far, Jimmy Butler offered to take things out back.
It all came to a head when Jokic responded to a foul by Morris with a powerful shove from behind. Morris went flying to the ground and players had to separate.
In the aftermath, Butler was caught on camera fuming over the incident.
Jimmy Butler wanted to fight Nikola Jokic after his cheap shot
“Bring yo a** to the back,” Butler clearly said a few times.
Those were fighting words, quite literally.
The good news is neither side took up the offer. Butler went back to his bench and Jokic stayed in his seat until he was rightly ejected.
Jokic had 25 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and two blocks before he left the game. Butler led his team with 31 points but the Heat fell, 113-96.
The Nuggets got the win in the end. However, the cost could be a game or two without their star center. The NBA will definitely be taking a look at that one. Denver plays next on Wednesday against the Pacers.
