While Klay Thompson has faced so much adversity over the past two years, he’s focused on a long and bright future with the Golden State Warriors.
It goes without saying, but Klay Thompson and his injuries have broken the hearts of Golden State Warriors fans the past two years. Everyone knows about his torn ACL and torn Achilles, which has kept him off the hardwood since the 2019 NBA Finals.
Now, Thompson is getting ready to return to action by the end of the calendar year. While he’s still working his way back, the sharpshooter has made it more than clear he loves the Warriors and he can’t believe it’s already been 10 years together with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Thompson is ready for their fantastic trio to keep on rocking for years to come.
Klay Thompson wants to keep playing with Steph Curry and Draymond Green for a while
“It’s pretty cool,” Thompson told NBC Sports on his decade with Green and Curry. “It’s rare to have continuity like that in pro sports, so I don’t take it for granted. It inspires me to — we got to get one more [championship], maybe two. We got to. Like the modern-day Spurs, you know? Manu (Ginóbili), Tony (Parker) and Tim (Duncan) played with each other their whole careers and I would like to do the same with Steph and Dray.”
If you’re a Golden State supporter, how can you see that quote from Thompson and not be jacked up? Green is no doubt one of the best defensive players in the league, while Curry and Thompson are known for burying triples whenever they’re on the court together.
The three have already helped the Warriors win multiple NBA Finals, getting the job done in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Now, Thompson is ready to return from his deflating injuries and focus on winning a fourth Finals ring with Curry and Green by his side.
