LaMelo Ball is already looking like a superstar after winning NBA Rookie of the Year as the Hornets guard is dropping wild no-look dimes for big dunks.
Despite missing a good portion of last season due to injury, LaMelo Ball still won Rookie of the Year in the NBA. The young Charlotte Hornets star immediately established himself as an elite playmaker but also shot much more consistently than expected.
Now, early in his second season, he’s already looking to build on that — but that doesn’t mean the wow plays are stopping anytime soon.
Early in the second quarter on Monday night against the Celtics, Ball penetrated off the right wing and dropped off a nifty no-look pass to Miles Bridges who finished the play with authority:
LaMelo Ball’s no-look assist vs. Celtics encapsulates why Hornets are must-see TV
It’s been probably a better start to the 2021-22 season for LaMelo Ball and the Hornets than could’ve been hoped for.
Not only has Ball been playing exceptionally well and displaying leadership qualities admirable for a young player, but the team started the year 3-0 coming into Monday night’s game, the first time in franchise history they’ve accomplished that type of start to a season.
More than that, though, Ball and the Hornets are a clear “League Pass team” that fans should be ready to tune into whenever they aren’t on national TV. His playmaking combined with the players around him has been a joy to watch and the no-look assist to Bridges against Boston is further evidence of that.
