Longtime NBA veteran Iman Shumpert is a contestant on the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars but, he’s not just there, he’s an absolute revelation on the dance floor.
In addition to being a first-round pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and spending a decade in the league, Iman Shumpert has always been somewhat of a Renaissance Man.
Early in his career as he was a youngster out of Georgia Tech, his high-top made him a hair icon. Moreover, Shumpert also dabbled in rap music with some high-profile back-and-forths with the likes of Kendrick Lamar. Unsigned by an NBA team for now, he’s currently a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
But the former NBA guard isn’t just going through the motions — he’s one of the standouts on the dance floor for the reality show’s 30th season.
Watch Iman Shumpert rep the NBA with a perfect 40/40 on Dancing with the Stars
Iconically dancing to a rendition of “I Got 5 On It” originally by Luniz, Shumpert and dance partner Daniella Karagach delivered a truly gorgeous routine that earned them a perfect 40/40 score from the judges:
I don’t care if Shumpert played basketball, curling, football, badminton or anything in-between — that routine should score five flame emojis out of five for anyone who watches it.
Fans of the movie The Cutting Edge certainly recognize at least one of the moves from this routine but that still doesn’t make it any less impressive. And if Iman Shumpert keeps this up as Dancing with the Stars continues, he’s undoubtedly going to win the 30th season.
