With the NBA’s Opening Night all set to arrive next week, the Boston Celtics have two stars who have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The 2021-22 NBA regular season is almost here and fans can’t wait for things to get underway. The contests are all set to begin with Opening Night on Oct. 19, but some concerning news is in for the Boston Celtics leading up to play.
This week, it has been revealed that both Al Horford and Jaylen Brown have recently tested positive for COVID-19. Due to NBA protocols, the two will have to quarantine for the next 10 days.

Right now, it’s up in the air if Brown will be able to play in the team’s season-opener on Oct. 20 going up against the New York Knicks. Horford won’t be cleared in time to suit up, which of course will be a blow for the squad.
For Brown, he’s hoping to bounce back this season after suffering a serious wrist injury late in the campaign. Brown missed the end of the regular season and wasn’t able to suit up in the playoffs. He ended up having surgery but is back to full health. In a recent preseason contest, he dropped 25 points in 26 minutes going up against the Orlando Magic. That of course was great to see for head coach Ime Udoka, who is in his first campaign leading the team.
For now, Celtics fans will have to wait and see if Brown will be able to suit up against the Knicks next Wednesday night. As for Horford, he’ll have to wait a little longer to make his debut.
