Veteran Los Angeles Lakers small forward Trevor Ariza underwent ankle surgery and he’ll be sidelined for two months.
With the 2021-22 NBA regular season right around the corner, the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to try and bring home their second NBA Finals title in the past three seasons. However, they’re facing a little bit of adversity ahead of the first game of the year.
On Thursday, NBA insider Shams Charania has reported that veteran small forward Trevor Ariza has undergone an ankle procedure and he’ll be sidelined for at the least the next two months.
Trevor Ariza will be out for eight weeks due to an ankle injury
With the NBA’s opening night all set for Oct. 19, LA fans can’t wait to see what the team will be able to get done this year, especially with superstar Russell Westbrook now joining the Lake Show and LeBron James.
To make things even spicier, Los Angeles is opening the new campaign going up against the Golden State Warriors. In that tilt, Klay Thompson will be ready to return after suffering his torn ACL and Achilles.
Meanwhile for Ariza, he’s going to have to wait a little longer than expected to make his debut this season. With that said, the Lakers coaching staff of course prefers for Ariza to get things taken care of now, rather than him risk further injury and going down midway through the season.
The Lakers have high expectations entering the regular season. That’s always going to be the case when James takes the floor. Ariza will now look to rehab and get back on the hardwood as soon as possible so that he can help this team record what could prove to be a memorable year.
