NBA Twitter trolls Lakers for signing another veteran player

The Lakers signed 33-year-old DeAndre Jordan after he was traded to the Pistons and subsequently waived, further adding to a roster of veterans.

Jordan can be a valuable asset off the bench, though he has many similarities to Dwight Howard and even Andrew Drummond, who recently left for the 76ers.

LeBron James and the Lakers are all-in on this season, and if that means adding just about every low-cost veteran on the open market who’s willing to take a discount for a championship, then so be it. It might be James’ last, best chance at a Title. You can bet he’s speaking with Rob Pelinka on a daily basis.

However, the Lakers’ average age is around 33 years old. As talented as they are, will a roster constructed of primarily veterans eventually run out of gas?

How old is DeAndre Jordan?

Jordan is 33 years old. He turned 33 in July.

Los Angeles Lakers banking on veteran talent

NBA Twitter had a field day with the Lakers’ most recent roster move — signing DeAndre Jordan.

There were many, many more.

Jordan is a depth signing at this point, nothing more. He will not make or break this roster, and surely has many connections in this league. He wants one more chance at a championship, and the Lakers might be his ticket.
