The summer of Giannis Antetokounmpo continues as he makes a surprise appearance in the ring at an AEW event in Milwaukee.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is having himself some summer fun. He led the Milwaukee Bucks to their first title in 50 years, winning the NBA Finals MVP on the way. He celebrated with the Milwaukee faithful at an epic parade and then went ahead and bought himself a share of the Milwaukee Brewers.
With training camps set to open in just a few weeks, anyone who thought Giannis was done having fun would be sorely mistaken. Last night he made an appearance at an AEW event in Milwaukee, even taking the time for some in-ring preening.
Does Giannis Antetokounmpo have a career in wrestling with AEW ahead of him?
Giannis has plenty more good basketball years ahead of him but he wouldn’t be the first NBA star to toy with a career in wrestling as well. Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman have all appeared at professional wrestling events in the past. And pre-pandemic, the Bucks were famous for their pregame wrestling routines, with Giannis featuring heavily.
At this point, Giannis can do whatever he wants and it’s hard to imagine he couldn’t be an incredibly successful wrestler if he set his mind to it. He is an absurd athlete who also happens to be absurdly likable as well. Bucks fans would like to see him add another championship ring or two but I’m sure they’d be happy to cheer him in on the wrestling ring eventually too.
