With Dennis Schroder now a Celtic, the jokes have been rolling about how the former Laker gave up tens of millions of dollars. But Mrs. Schroder had a few words for the critics.
Dennis Schroder has been the butt of many jokes this off-season with his turning down of an $84 million contract with the Lakers. But, nonetheless he was able to secure a deal with the rival Boston Celtics for much less than what he originally could have received had he taken the multimillion dollar deal right then and there.
His decision in retrospect was a good laugh, but he’s on a better track than other free agents around the league like Ben Simmons, who is nowhere closer to a deal than he was when the season had ended. While we get our laughs off, Schroder’s wife, Ellen Ziolo is not having it.

Ziolo took to her social media where she showed full support for her husband. She went on to call out the haters, mentioning that money is not the sole motive when it comes to his goals.
It’s pretty heartwarming to see, especially since everyone is caught up in how much money he’s “losing” but in reality, it could pose as a great opportunity that could turn into a long term relationship with the C’s in the future. Plus, it’s not that much of a “loss” if Schroder was still able to bag a contract.
