Watch: Giannis channels Marshawn Lynch at NBA Finals press conference

Giannis Antetokounmpo went full Marshawn Lynch during an NBA Finals press conference.

With his Milwaukee Bucks down 0-2 to the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals, Giannis Antetokounmpo channeled his inner Marshawn Lynch at the podium Saturday … sort of.

The two-time NBA MVP looked straight into the camera during an NBA Finals press conference and quoted Lynch by saying, “I’m just here not to get fined.” Okay, Antetokounmpo was only joking, but he had us there for a second. Either way, Game 3 on Sunday night is no laughing matter. If the Bucks go down 0-3 to the Suns, Phoenix will be well on its way to winning its first championship.

Will Antetokounmpo be about that action, boss, in Game 3 of the 2021 NBA Finals on Saturday?

Giannis Antetokounmpo is only here not to get fined during the NBA Finals

This may be an attempt for Antetokounmpo to keep things light for a Bucks team that faces a critical, must-win scenario. While this is untrodden territory for Antetokounmpo and his Bucks teammates, it is not like the Suns have ample NBA Finals experience either. In fact, the Suns had not made the Western Conference Playoffs once in the decade prior to their magical 2021 run.

Antetokounmpo quoting Lynch signifies that he is one of the people. The Greek Freak is right at home in Milwaukee and loving his life as an NBA superstar. However, Lynch did win a Super Bowl when he was in his prime as the Seattle Seahawks‘ star running back in 2013. While this is only Antetokounmpo’s first trip to the Finals, he remains ringless. He has to win four of the next five games to change that.

Look for Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to play very loose in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Sunday.
