Former Rockets guard Vernon Maxwell continues to dunk all over Utah Jazz fans

Former Houston Rockets guard Vernon Maxwell once again went in on the Utah Jazz after three fans had to be ejected for verbally abusing Ja Morant’s family.

The relationship between fans and NBA players, especially as it relates to race, has become an unfortunate topic of discussion during the playoffs.

On Wednesday, three fans were ejected from Vivint Smart Home Arena during Game 2 between the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies for directing lewd and racist remarks at Ja Morant’s family. That’s one of several incidents that have garnered publicity during Jazz games over the years.

Former Houston Rockets guard Vernon Maxwell, who has been an outspoken critic of Utah for a while now, had a lot of things to say about the latest incidents.

There is no love lost between Vernon Maxwell and Utah

On Monday, Maxwell drew a pretty extreme parallel between the KKK and the Jazz for hosting a “White Out” for Game 1 against the Grizzlies:

When they rebounded with a win in Game 2, he had another comment.

In light of Morant’s parents, Maxwell continued on Thursday night.

That one is a reference to this classic tweet from 2017.

He was still making points on Friday.

For some background, Maxwell had mentioned in the past his experience with rampant racial abuse when he visited Salt Lake City during his career.

Maxwell’s criticism this week wasn’t limited to just the situation with the Jazz. He also had thoughts on Russell Westbrook getting popcorn poured on him by a fan in Philadelphia.

Maxwell played 13 seasons in the NBA after being drafted in 1988 in the second round. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets and immediately traded to the San Antonio Spurs. He spent a season and a half in San Antonio before Houston picked him up. He played for the Rockets for six seasons, becoming a fan favorite while winning two titles in 1994 and 1995.

In the later stages of his career, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Sacramento Kings, Seattle SuperSonics and Dallas Mavericks.
