NBA Twitter is not impressed with the Charlotte Hornets lacklustre effort in Tuesday’s play-in game.
The whole idea of play-in games is to add entertainment value to the end of the regular season. For the ninth- and 10th-place teams in each conference, it provides a “win or go home,” one-and-done, March Madness-like format to kick off the 2021 NBA Playoffs. It’s meant to be exciting.
The most entertaining part of Tuesday night’s game between the Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers? NBA Twitter ruthlessly destroying the Hornets for not showing up to play.
NBA Twitter is ripping the Hornets during play-in game
LaMelo Ball and his squad fell completely flat in the first play-in game, stumbling right out of the gates. They were down 69-45 at halftime, and it never really got any better from there. Their performance was inexcusable, even in the eyes of Charlotte fans.

Unfortunately, there was no saving Charlotte in this one. Hopefully they’ll have better luck at the golf course now that their season has come to an abrupt end.
As for the Pacers, they’ll move on to face the loser of Boston-Washington thanks to their 144-117 blowout.
