Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges throws down a “mind-blowing” dunk against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Over a week ago, Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges sent team broadcaster Eric Collins into hysterics following his vicious dunk over Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela. Many called that a “Dunk of the Year candidate.” Four games later, Bridges may have matched his previous dunk, and Collins once again went nuts.
In the waning seconds of the first half of Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Bridges found a wide-open lane to the basket, leapt through the air over guard CJ McCollum and unleashed a brutal one-handed slam dunk. Of course, Collins could not help but scream and let the audience know that his mind was blown.
Hornets: Miles Bridges and broadcaster Eric Collins are a dynamic duo
Name a more iconic duo than Bridges and Collins. We’ll wait. Seriously, nothing is better than a play-by-play man going insane following a mean slam dunk. It’s obviously way better than saying “what a dunk” in a monotonous tone.
With that dunk, the Hornets went back to the locker room with a 65-51 lead at halftime. That was quite the way to give your team the momentum heading into the second half.
Entering this game, Bridges was averaging 11.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 51 percent from the field.
With this latest dunk, the NBA has to find a way to get Bridges to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest again. Oh, and have Collins call it, because that is the only way it will improve the NBA All-Star Game event.
