Lakers receive extremely exciting news on Anthony Davis’ potential return

Outstanding news has arrived for the Los Angeles Lakers, as superstar Anthony Davis is on the verge or returning to action.

Injuries have unfortunately had a negative impact on the Los Angeles Lakers this season. In addition to LeBron James‘ high-ankle sprain, the group has been without fellow standout Anthony Davis since Feb. 14. Missing Davis for more than two months has been brutal.

Davis, who has been missing from the action because of a calf strain and Achilles tendonitis, could be ready to get back on the hardwood soon, though. LA head coach Frank Vogel has come out and said that Davis has been given the green light for full on-court activity.

It is unlikely he’ll return for the team’s games against the Utah Jazz on April 17 and 19, but the fact that they’re not ruling him out for games within the next 2-4 days is extremely exciting.

Anthony Davis nearing his return is massive news for the Lakers

Entering Thursday’s tilt with the Boston Celtics, the Lakers hold a 34-21 record. Before Davis went down with his injuries, LA stood in second place of the Western Conference standings. Fast forward to present time and the squad is in fifth behind the Jazz, Phoenix Suns, LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets.

Prior to being sidelined, Davis was in the middle of another exceptional season for the Lakers, averaging 22.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. It goes without saying, but not having him on the floor is a huge bummer for Vogel and his coaching staff. Davis is without question one of the best players in the game.

He and James work wonders together on the hardwood. With both of them expected to be fully healthy sooner than later, that’s rough news for the rest of the NBA. The Lakers are hoping to repeat as Finals champions, with Davis and James ready to make sure that goal gets done later this year. It will be a tough task for anyone to try and stop them.
