This season continues to be one to forget for the Houston Rockets as they gave up a 22-0 run in their loss to the Timberwolves on Friday.
This nightmare of a season continues to roll on for first-time head coach Stephen Silas and the Houston Rockets. This week, the team watched its James Harden trade finally settle into four first-round picks, five first-round pick swaps, Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, Dante Exum, and 20 games with Victor Oladipo.
Ouch.
That might be the worst trade in NBA history but the Rockets must still push forward and finish out this NBA season. While Harden has emerged as the MVP favorite, according to him, Houston is still trying to recover from the worst losing streak in league history.
Yes, the Space City team is historically bad but they somehow found a way to give up a 22-0 run to the only team that might be worse than them.
Rockets continue to struggle while the Timberwolves seem to be on the right track
Minnesota trailed by as many as 19 points in the second half on Friday night against the Rockets. The team has won four of its last 15 games under Chris Finch and seems to be finding its footing a bit. Silas’s squad, however, gave up a 22-0 run to the T’Wolves who were looking to stop a four-game losing streak.
Karl-Anthony Towns had 14 points in the final minutes of the game to push the Timberwolves over the top. Houston went scoreless the final 7:31 of the game and shot 3 of 22 in the fourth quarter.
You’ve got to feel for Silas, who inherited a team without any clear sense of direction. How should Houston attempt to bounce back from such a disheartening season’s start?
