Chicago Bulls add more depth in trade with Washington Wizards

The Bulls have been busy Thursday and made a move with the Wizards that adds depth to the roster.

The Chicago Bulls want to build a winner and started Thursday with a big trade to land Orlando Magic big man Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls sent two players and two first-round picks in the deal, so it is clear they want to win now.

The moves kept on coming Thursday and Bulls fans may need to check the roster again before the next game. Chicago made a deal with the Washington Wizards to acquire two more players who will provide some great depth as the postseason approaches.

Bulls add two depth pieces from Wizards

Mo Wagner was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Lakers back in 2018 and was ultimately sent to Washington so the Lakers could free up money to form the super duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

He is averaging 7.1 points per game in limited action and now joins a team looking to fight for a playoff spot. Wagner is still only 23 years old and could blossom into a reliable role player if given the opportunity. Whether that will come in Chicago remains to be seen as he is a free agent following the season.

Troy Brown is another player looking to get more time on the floor in Chicago. He is averaging only 4.3 points per game in 13.7 minutes this season. The former first-round pick is still only 21 years old and a change of scenery could change his career. The Bulls clearly see potential in the former No. 15 overall pick. He also remains under contract for the 2021-22 season.

Chicago enters play Thursday with a 19-24 record, which is good enough for the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference. This new influx of talent could finally help the Bulls get back to the postseason for the first time since 2017.
