NBA rumors: 1 major hiccup preventing Kyle Lowry trade to Heat

According to reports out of Toronto, the Raptors want Tyler Herro in a potential trade involving veteran point guard Kyle Lowry.

Later this week, the NBA trade deadline will arrive and hoops fans are waiting to see where some big names end up getting sent. One player in particular who’s been mentioned in several rumors has been Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry.

Miami has interest in acquiring the playmaker, but there’s still plenty of work to get done before something even gets close to being finalized. According to Raptors insider Michael Grange, the Raptors are hoping to get second-year guard Tyler Herro in return if they were to send Lowry to Miami.

The Toronto Raptors reportedly want Tyler Herro as part of a package for Kyle Lowry

The growing belief is that Lowry very well could end up getting traded, with the Heat and 76ers the two teams showing the most interest in getting him to town. However, Toronto isn’t going to just give away the talented guard, who was crucial in helping the team win the NBA Finals in 2019.

As for Miami, they’ve watched Herro continue to get better on a daily basis since the team drafted him in 2019. After averaging 13.5 points during his rookie season, the former Kentucky sharpshooter is putting up 15.3 points a night this season, adding five rebounds and 3.4 assists per outing.

The question for the Heat becomes just how badly they want Lowry. If they think he can help them get over the top come postseason time, they may need to make the tough decision and send Herro to Toronto. In the next few days, we’ll find out what both Miami and Toronto decide. Fans can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
