Jerami Grant rumors have been swirling this offseason and the Boston Celtics are reportedly interested in pursuing him ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
By this Thursday, March 25, at 3 p.m. ET NBA teams will need to have finalized any deals that they hope to get done before this season’s playoff push. Injuries continue to plague the league this season as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant all sit and nurse injuries while LaMelo Ball has officially been ruled out for the rest of the season.
As teams look to solidify themselves as contenders several veterans are expected to be moved. Now, there are now rumors swirling regarding some of the younger, stronger pieces in the league as well.
The Boston Celtics have expressed interest in pursuing John Collins who is currently set to become a restricted free agent with the Atlanta Hawks this summer. The C’s have now also been linked to Detroit Pistons’ rising star Jerami Grant, according to The Ringer.
Celtics targeting Jerami Grant ahead of NBA trade deadline
The top race for the fourth through eighth seeds, however, in the Eastern Conference will likely come down to the wire. The Celtics are trying to recover from an early-season slump and now sit in the eighth seed.
Grant is having a career year with the Pistons, averaging 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. The C’s obviously need to make a move before the deadline and Grant is a player that would improve their team on both ends of the floor.
Danny Ainge has been known to pump fake on deals consistently but can you see Boston making a move for Grant in the next two days?
