NBA rumors: Cavaliers holding firm on Larry Nance Jr. trade offers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are receiving tons of calls about Larry Nance Jr. but it doesn’t seem like they’re willing to budge.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have looked like a team in need of a true superstar ever since LeBron James left for the second time in 2018. While their blooming backcourt of Colin Sexton and Darius Garland has been playing well this season, they still find themselves 14-22 and out of the playoff picture in an Eastern Conference that has been mediocre this season.

Larry Nance Jr. has also been a big part of the little success the Cavs have had this year. In 19 games this season, he’s averaging 9.3 points on 38 percent from 3 and 3.2 assists to only 1.5 turnovers.

Nance Jr.’s name is being thrown around in trade rumors and the 28-year-old is seen as a very valuable piece in the market. He doesn’t really appreciate it the way he probably should, it’s a compliment after all.

It seems like Nance Jr. wants to remain an integral part of this Cleveland rebuild and the Cavs may share the same sentiment.

The Cleveland Cavaliers may not be looking to move Larry Nance Jr. before the trade deadline

Teams said to be interested in Nance Jr. include the Celtics, Heat, Mavericks, Pelicans, Sixers, and Timberwolves. Still, the Cavaliers maintain that he isn’t available. It is being reported that one team offered multiple late first-round picks and Cleveland refused.

The Cavs don’t have to move Nance now, as he won’t be an unrestricted free agent until the summer of 2023 when he’ll be 30. This situation puts the Cavaliers in an interesting predicament as he could be an important piece in the continuation of their rebuild. He could also be the piece that if moved could secure their future down the line.

Will the Cavs continue to hold on Nance Jr.? Which team would benefit from having him most?
