The Houston Rockets got annihilated by the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening but managed to break another awful NBA shooting record.
The Houston Rockets didn’t have a player score over 14 points in their embarrassing 49-point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening. The 133-84 loss was one of the worst losses in franchise history for the Rockets while Memphis got back on track after dropping three of its last four before the win. The 84 points are the Rockets’ lowest total since Nov. 8, 2018, which came in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
There was a lot that went wrong in the game for the Rockets but their shooting woes were definitely on display. Houston’s field goal percentage of 27.7 percent was a franchise-low.
The Rockets are no strangers to shooting woes and in this loss to the Grizzlies, they broke another not-so-good record.
The Rockets broke another shooting record against the Grizzlies
Houston only made 4 of their 45 attempted 3-pointers on the evening for a whopping 8.9 percent.
The Rockets first got on everyone’s radar for their shooting struggles back in 2018 against the Golden State Warriors.
Houston definitely seems to be in disarray at this point in the season. With the All-Star Game coming up this weekend, the team is currently in 11th place in the Western Conference, only above the league-worst Minnesota Timberwolves. They’ve recently let go of big man Demarcus Cousins and are still trying to figure out what to do with Victor Oladipo.
One thing is for sure, they’ll need to figure out how to put the ball into the basket, and soon.
