Steve Kerr jokes about recruiting ‘violation’ when Jaylen Brown was in college

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr jokingly admitted that he was involved in the recruitment of Boston Celtics phenom Jaylen Brown.

Despite not having Klay Thomson in the backcourt this year, the Warriors are currently only one spot out of the playoffs in this still-young NBA season. A little beef has the Warriors playing inspired basketball and Steve Kerr and his squad took on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, in a tough game that went down to the wire. The Celtics were able to just edge out Steph Curry and company 111-107.

Curry finished the game with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in another spectacular performance in which he hit seven three-pointers. The Warriors just couldn’t come up with enough buckets though. Boston on the other hand got 27 points from Jason Tatum in the big Celtics win.

Jaylen Brown would finish the game with 18 points and 10 rebounds, continuing what has been a stellar season for the young player so far. Through 19 games, Brown is averaging a career-high 26.6 points per game.

After taking the loss, Kerr joked about his relationship with Brown prior to him becoming a Boston Celtic.

Brown, who played his collegiate ball not too far from Kerr, in the Bay Area at California, was a friend and teammate of Kerr’s son Nick. Kerr would drive the two to Cal games when Brown was just a freshman. A decade later Brown is terrorizing coaches all over the league.

Time flies when you’re creating a basketball dynasty.
