Boban Marjanovic is a national treasure and proved it once again by singing for his wife.
Boban Marjanovic is truly one-of-a-kind, and not just because of his physical prowess.
The Dallas Mavericks center has let his personality shine as of late. That includes clips of him being silly at shootarounds, and he just posted something that may never be topped. Boban decided to come up with his own rendition of “Shallow” for his wife’s birthday.
Boban channels his inner Bradley Cooper
Protect Boban at all costs. He clearly put some thought into this and doesn’t care if fans don’t love his singing voice. He must have loved it enough to post it to his Instagram, and for that we applaud him.
The fact teammate Maxi Kleber is on piano adds a whole other dynamic to this whole wild scene. Can Luka Doncic play an instrument as well to form a three-piece band? What about head coach Rick Carlisle?
Marjanovic is an interesting player because he is not going to get a ton of minutes. For his career he averages 9.7 minutes per game, but he’s also averaging 6.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, so at least he is doing work when he’s out there.
The Mavericks are a fun bunch and Boban is one piece of that puzzle of foreign-born players becoming legends in the city of Dallas. This only adds to his lore, and the next thing he can do is have a huge playoff game to become an even larger-than-life figure in the city.
Are his vocals as smooth as Cooper’s? No, but wrangling Kleber to stand in as his personal Lady Gaga was a nice touch, and hopefully Mrs. Boban enjoyed this as much as the rest of the NBA world.
