Kevin Durant dunks home first bucket as a Brooklyn Net (Video)

Kevin Durant finally took the court in a Brooklyn Nets uniform, and made an immediate impact in his preseason debut.

This has been a day that Brooklyn Nets fans have been waiting for for over a year. Kevin Durant, the two-time NBA Finals MVP and ten-time All-Star, made his debut for the Nets on Sunday after fully recovering from a ruptured Achilles in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals. And he made an immediate impact at the expense of the Washington Wizards.

In the opening minute of the game, guard Spencer Dinwiddie grabbed an errant shot attempt and spotted a wide open Durant at the three-point line. Durant took the pass and immediately found an open lane to the net, and unleashed a wicked dunk to tie things up at two points apiece.

Durant’s first points in Brooklyn came emphatically

This dunk not only brings a smile to the face of Nets fans around the globe, but also to the front office.

Following his devastating injury in the Finals, the expectation was that Durant would leave the Golden State Warriors to sign with the New York Knicks. Well, that didn’t turn out the way that Knicks fans had envisioned. Durant and point guard Kyrie Irving essentially talked it out and opted to play basketball in Brooklyn instead. Sure, the Nets knew Durant would be out for the entirety of the 2019-20 season, but he was simply too elite of a player to pass up on.

However the upcoming season ends for the Nets, expect it to be exciting throughout with Durant leading the team.
