LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will celebrate their NBA championship at the White House now that Donald Trump has been voted out.
Traditionally, champions of their respective sports have been invited to the White House to be honored by the president of the United States and celebrate their accomplishment. That largely hasn’t been the case over the last four years with Donald Trump in office. There have been some exceptions, notably Clemson who feasted on the finest fast food on the menu.
However, there were several champions who declined their invitation or were not invited at all because of who was in office. With Donald Trump losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden on Saturday morning, the Cold War between the NBA and the White House is thawing.
LeBron, Lakers will go to the White House with Trump out of office
LeBron James was a big champion for the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket and Trump was a vocal critic of LeBron, even inciting an anti-LeBron chant at one of his latest superspreader rallies. With Trump being evicted from the White House and Biden moving in on Inauguration Day in January, you can bank on LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers visiting the White House to celebrate their championship.
After Draymond Green posted on Twitter that LeBron could go back to the White House now, LeBron responded he’s going to be bringing some tequila and vino too.
LeBron’s Twitter has been a good source of positive vibes on Saturday unless you’re a Trump supporter, which if you are, you’ve likely blocked or don’t follow LeBron anyway, because of China or some reason that the president brainwashed you. However, for LeBron fans and for those who voted for Biden and who were not fans of the Trump presidency, hit that retweet button.
