Jeremy Lin might have some suitors in the NBA.
After spending a year with the Beijing Ducks in China following his championship with the Toronto Raptors, Jeremy Lin is apparently gearing up for one last run in the NBA. While he isn’t going to be viewed as a starter or major rotational piece given how he started to lose a step during his last few seasons, he can still be a productive player in this league, and there are a few NBA teams that will, at the very least, kick the tires on being the setting for Lin’s comeback tour.
The latest buzz is suggesting that two of Lin’s former teams, the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets, have some interest in resigning him.
Jeremy Lin didn’t play in the NBA in 2019-20
Before Lin set the world on fire with the New York Knicks, he played a handful of games in Golden State. A Palo Alto native, Lin going back home and backing up Steph Curry could be a very attractive option for a Warriors team that will likely return to the postseason in 2020.
During the black hole years with the Nets in which they had one of the league’s worst rosters and no draft picks, Lin was signed to be the team’s starting point guard. While he had a solid rookie season, an injury in the first game of his second season ended his Nets tenure. Playing time might be hard to come by given the presence of Kyrie Irving and Spencer Dinwiddie, but the opportunity to play for Steve Nash might be too good to pass up.
The days of Linsanity are over, but there are certainly worse options out there if contending teams want to add a veteran backup point guard. Both Golden State and Brooklyn looked like solid landing spots for Lin in his NBA return.
