Zion Williamson is featured in NBA 2K21’s first look on the PS5 console.
NBA 2K21 released a sneak peak featuring Zion Williamson on Thursday.
The same day Sony released their first look at the new PlayStation 5 console, 2K Sports dropped a video showing off their first look at NBA 2K21. They released a video featuring the New Orleans Pelicans star rookie Williamson. The trailer shows off their next generation graphics.
“Get ready for #NBA2K21 🔥 @nba2k,” Williamson tweeted along with the trailer.

NBA 2K also tweeted a video of both Williamson and Greg Thomas, the co-founder of Visual Concepts, briefly discussing the game. Visual Concepts is a company best known for developing sports games for 2K.
“Together we are announcing to the world that NBA 2K21 is coming to Sony PlayStation 5,” Williamson said in the video.
The game promises to have a quick loading time, according to Thomas.
”The graphics on the PS5 are amazing, but there is so much more to that box,” Thomas said in the video.
While there is a sneak peak of the game, further details about its modes and features have yet to be revealed. The release date is still pending as well, and it may be up in the air for quite some time as there is no telling when the 2020-21 NBA season will start.
Typically, the NBA 2K series release their latest games in September, the month preceding the start to the upcoming NBA season. With the current NBA 2019-20 season postponed and yet to resume, due to coronavirus pandemic, it is uncertain when the next NBA season will begin.
The NBA is attempting to restart the 2019-20 season at the end of July, but the logistics are still being ironed out, including an opt-out clause for players who don’t want to participate due to health concerns. While the NBA is still working out the details for the season restart, for now, NBA fans have 57 seconds of digital NBA action that’s capped by a Williamson dunk on NBA 2K21.
