The Utah Jazz are signing G League guard Rayjon Tucker to a multi-year contract, agents Reggie Brown and Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports tell ESPN.
Tucker, and undrafted rookie out of Arkansas-Little Rock, had been a dynamic performer for the Wisconsin Herd of the G League this season.
The Jazz are also waiving veteran forward Jeff Green, sources said.
Tucker’s deal is guaranteed for the rest of this season, sources said. Several teams were in pursuit of Tucker in the wake of his G League season and a terrific performance at the G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas in recent days.
“Utah is getting a fantastic young man with a great work ethic and passion for the game,” Herd coach Chase Buford told ESPN. “Rayjon is an elite athlete who competes at a ridiculously high level every night. He’s a human highlight reel, and a very exciting prospect for now and the future.”
Tucker, 22, averaged 23.9 points on 49 percent shooting from the field, including 38 percent from 3.
The Jazz (18-12) traded for Cleveland guard Jordan Clarkson earlier on Monday.
