Adam Mares joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast to discuss what’s next for the Denver Nuggets.
Being upset at home in a Game 7 to advance to the conference finals was a sour finish for an otherwise remarkable season from the Nuggets. Denver finished as the 2-seed in the Western Conference despite having one of the youngest teams in the NBA. The regular season should be no problem again, but what about when the playoffs start? Is it possible for Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray to improve enough to help the Nuggets contend for a championship in 2019-20?
To answer that question, Adam Mares (@adam_mares) joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Adam is site manager at Denver Stiffs and hosts the Locked on Nuggets podcast. In addition to addressing the Nuggets’ status as a possible contender, the following topics are covered:
- Who starts at small forward? How will minutes be divided for Will Barton, Torrey Craig, Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez?
- What is the best five-man unit? Will playing Jerami Grant out of position alongside Paul Millsap and Jokic be an option?
- Fresh off a max extension, is Murray the key to Denver’s potential?
- Can Gary Harris bounce back after briefly turning into Courtney Lee last year?
- Will the Nuggets look to make a trade using Malik Beasley as the centerpiece? Who would they target?
- Who plays more career games: Michael Porter Jr. or Bol Bol?
