Betting odds for potential NBA Finals matchups released

The NBA Finals will be set following Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night, and the oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook have already released series odds for both potential matchups.

If the Miami Heat win on Monday night, Game 1 of the NBA Finals will take place in Denver on Thursday, June 1.

If the Boston Celtics complete the improbable 3-0 series comeback, Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be in Boston on June 1. Boston entered the Conference Finals at +100 to win the NBA Finals, and oddsmakers still have the team favored against Denver – if it wins on Monday.

Nuggets vs. Celtics opening series odds

  • Nuggets: -105
  • Celtics: -115

Heat vs. Nuggets opening series odds

  • Heat: +265
  • Nuggets: -330

It’s interesting to see the Celtics favored in these series odds, but bettors may want to take advantage of Boston’s current futures odds, as the team enters Game 7 at +125 or +120 (depending on the sportsbook) to win the NBA Finals.

That’s a much better price than taking the team at -115, where it would open against Denver.

The same goes for Heat fans, if they think the team is going to win the NBA Finals, betting on their current futures odds is a much better wager than waiting to take the +265 for them to beat Denver.

The Nuggets have had a massive layoff after sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers, which could affect how they play in Game 1. Still, Boston has played in back-to-back Game 7s while Miami has looked vulnerable as a No. 8 seed in this series.

Bettors may want to consider taking the Nuggets in either of these matchups since the team has been so dominant in the postseason, losing just three games through three rounds.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
