The Golden State Warriors could look to shake up their roster after a second-round playoff exit. Here are three trades that they should make this offseason.

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a disappointing season. They had the fourth-worst road record in the NBA (11-30), behind only the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs.

During the postseason, the supporting cast struggled to score the basketball. Excluding Stephen Curry, they shot an underwhelming 33.0 percent from 3. Head coach Steve Kerr desperately searched for an effective lineup, experimenting with Moses Moody, Gary Payton II, and more.

Subsequently, it is evident that the front office needs to make moves this offseason. Let’s break down three potential trades.

Warriors trade No. 3: Jonathan Kuminga to the Pacers

Pacers Get

F Jonathan Kuminga

G Ryan Rollins

Jonathan Kuminga was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Despite being a raw prospect, he has already started to live up to his potential. After January 20, he averaged 12.3 points shooting 56.0 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from beyond the arc, with a Box Plus-Minus of plus-1.1.

However, he logged DNPs in the postseason. As a result, he could potentially request a trade this summer, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater.

“The Warriors and Kuminga’s representatives are expected to discuss his future this offseason, league sources say. Golden State will need to decide whether Kuminga will receive a full-time role moving forward and, if not, league sources say the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will want to be somewhere he can play more.”

The Warriors need to do whatever they can to keep the 20-year-old wing, but if he requests a trade, this deal would help them remain competitive. TJ McConnell is a solid, two-way point guard. Last season, he was ninth in the NBA in assist percentage (37.9) and seventh in steal percentage (2.5). In addition, the future first-round pick would be a valuable asset; they can utilize it to make a big move.

Meanwhile, Kuminga could play a bigger role for the rebuilding Pacers.
