NBA Play-In schedule 2023: Play-In Tournament matchups, dates, times

The 2022-23 NBA regular season is over, and the play-in tournament kicks off right before the playoffs. Here’s the full schedule for the tournament.

The NBA 2022-23 regular season is officially in the books. Now, we are down to 20 teams looking to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy in June. However, for those teams ranked No. 7-10 in the Eastern and Western Conferences, they will have to get through the NBA Play-In Tournament to officially clinch their spots in the playoffs.

For those who are unaware of the play-in tournament, the No. 7 and 8 ranked teams face off, with the winner clinching the seventh-seed in the playoffs. As for the eighth-ranked team, they will then have to face the winner of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup, for a chance to clinch the eighth seed.

With the teams all set, lets take a look at the matchups and the dates for each of them.

NBA Play-In tournament matchups, dates, times

Eastern Conference

These four Eastern Conference teams have secured their spot in the Play-In tournament. Now, let’s take a look at the matchups, and when they will be playing each other.

  • No. 7 Miami Heat vs. No. 8 Atlanta Hawks, Tuesday, Apr. 11, 7:30 p.m. ET, TNT
  • No. 9 Toronto Raptors vs. No. 10 Chicago Bulls, Wednesday, Apr. 12, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN
  • Eighth Seed Game: Loser of 7 vs. 8 vs. Winner of 9 vs. 10, Friday, Apr. 14, 7:00/7:30 p.m. ET, TNT

The Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks will be competing for the No. 7 seed in the playoffs, where they would face the No. 2 Boston Celtics in the first-round.

From there, the loser of the 7 vs. 8 matchup will face the winner of the 9 vs. 10 matchup. The winner of that matchup on Friday, Apr. 14, will receive the No. 8 seed, and face the No. 1 Milwaukee Bucks in the opening round.

Western Conference

Below are the two Western Conference play-in matchups.

The winner of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves matchup will earn the seventh seed and face the No. 2 Memphis Grizzlies in the opening round of the playoffs.

After that, the loser of the 7 vs. 8 game will face the winner of the 9 vs. 10 game on Friday, Apr. 14. Whoever wins that game will earn the eighth seed and face the No. 1 Denver Nuggets in the first-round.
