Anthony Edwards reveals his gnarly snacking vice

First, Popeye’s chicken. Now, Chester’s Hot Fries. Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards has quite the diet when it comes to junk food and wasn’t afraid to reveal his latest guilty pleasure.

Let’s play a short game of Mad Libs: Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards eats ____ bags of ____ a week.

The answer is 21 bags of Chester’s Hot Fries a week.

In a recent interview with GQ Sports, Edwards admitted that he eats that many bags of Hot Fries and “probably more” if he’s being honest.

Edwards said of his favorite snack:

“The best chips that were ever made. I’ve been eating ’em since I was probably like five years old. I probably eat like 3 a day. You do the math…. What’s that, 21 bags? Yeah, I eat that many!”

Edwards was criticized by teammate Karl-Anthony Towns last October when Towns expressed his displeasure over Edwards’ unhealthy eating habits.

At the time, Edwards was coming off a poor shooting night and Minnesota was still jostling around to find its identity early in the season. Edwards has famously flexed his post-game Popeye’s cravings in the past, yet after Edwards’ hot-and-cold performances to start the 2022 season, Towns was far from impressed.

Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards is a pretty big snack guy

Edwards’ diet clearly isn’t affecting his game now as the star guard is averaging a whopping 24.7 points per game in his third season in the NBA and making a last-minute leap into the All-Star conversation with his dominant performances of late.

Edwards has also served as a picture of perfect health, not missing a game all season and even playing through a painful hip bruise.

The Timberwolves currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference and are in the middle of a six-game homestand, set to host the Golden State Warriors tomorrow night. The margin for error in the West is close to nothing as Minnesota is just one win away from catching up to the fifth-seeded Warriors.

As long as Edwards keeps up his All-Star levels of production, there’s no reason to criticize his snack binges. If anything, he’s one step closer to getting a sponsorship with Chester’s Hot Fries and maybe even a lifetime supply to rub in Towns’ face.
