NBA trade rumors: Everyone expects the Pistons to trade Jerami Grant

Jerami Grant has been included in plenty of NBA trade rumors over the past year. It sounds like he might actually be on the move this offseason.

Jerami Grant has blossomed over his two seasons in Detroit, becoming a lead scorer for the first time in his career and averaging 20.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. However, Detroit has spent that time tearing down the roster around him and Grant’s offensive evolution and defensive versatility have made him a fixture in trade rumors for most of his time with the Pistons.

His name has continued to be mentioned in connection with several teams and the latest buzz is that he’s almost certainly going to be actually traded this time around.

Latest NBA trade rumors say everyone expects Jerami Grant to be traded

In his latest NBA Mock Draft, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony put the Pistons together with Keegan Murray at the No. 5 pick and highlighted the Jeramy Grant trade rumors as one of the biggest reasons why:

Murray’s fit here looks strong, especially with the amount of trade chatter surrounding power forward Jerami Grant. The incumbent is widely expected to be on the move this summer, as he’s entering the final year of his contract and doesn’t look to be on the same timetable as the rest of the Pistons’ roster.

Both the Trail Blazers and Kings are rumored to be looking to trade their picks for a win-now player, with Grant specifically mentioned as a target. The No. 4 (Kings) or No. 7 (Blazers) pick would be huge values for the Pistons and getting a deal done may just come down to what else the Kings or Blazers would include and what other assets they might ask the Pistons to put in the package.

It’s worth noting that Grant signed with the Pistons as a free agent because he wanted to play for a team that has an African-American head coach and general manager, something that neither the Kings or Blazers have.
