Draymond Green sees his Golden State Warriors playing the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.
On the Inside the NBA set outside of Chase Center, Draymond Green goes full-blown Nostradamus by predicting his Golden State Warriors will face the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals.
Admittedly, this is not the boldest of proclamations, but is one that could totally backfire. Boston is up 3-2 in the Celtics’ best-of-seven series vs. the top-seeded Miami Heat out east. The Celtics host the Heat on Friday night at TD Garden in Game 6. Ime Udoka’s team must win one of its next two games to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in over a decade. It will not be easy for them.
Here is Green making his grand proclamation on the Inside the NBA set outside of Chase Center.
As Turner Sports’ Shaquille O’Neal said after Green’s bold prediction, “that’s the Draymond I know.”

Boston may be steeped in tradition as one of the most celebrated franchises in NBA history, but the Celtics have not won the Eastern Conference since 2010. It has been 14 years since they last won an NBA Finals. They may be a team on the rise and one that most people expect will eventually punch through in short order, but this is untrodden territory for their current core.
As for Golden State, this is the Warriors’ sixth NBA Finals appearance of the Steve Kerr era. Key players like Steph Curry, Green and Klay Thompson have all won three league championships. Getting that fourth ring for the pinky cements them all as first-ballot Basketball Hall of Famers. However, a league title for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will forever change their narratives.
Of course, the Heat are one of the toughest teams around. They have about as strong of a culture as any franchise in the league. While they have not won an NBA Finals since LeBron James decided he was coming home, Erik Spoelstra had his team back in the title bout two years ago, albeit in the Orlando bubble. Boston may very well advance, but the Heat could have some fight left in them.
If Miami wins Game 6 and then Game 7, Green will be hearing it from Heat fans in the NBA Finals.
