Skip Bayless defends himself against Russell Westbrook’s wife

Skip Bayless’ feud with Russell Westbrook’s wife took a step in the right direction over the weekend, when Bayless address the interaction itself.

This is not the first nor will it be the last public feud in the long, storied career of sports talking head Skip Bayless. At a certain point, you almost have to act impressed — almost.

Bayless, who is from Oklahoma City, addressed his relationship with Russell Westbrook on his podcast last week, stating that it was complicated to say the least. For Bayless’ point of view, Westbrook challenged him earlier in his career, through a Kevin Durant interview with local paper The Oklahoman.

In response to these comments, Nina Westbrook took to Instagram, claiming that Bayless had blocked her for badmouthing him.

Did Skip Bayless block Nina Westbrook?

Per the man himself, Bayless claimed he never blocked Westbrook. Nina has since walked it back, or at least we’re led to believe that from Bayless’ statement.

“Dear Mrs. Westbrook: Thank you for clarifying that I didn’t block you. I’ve never blocked anybody and never will. I welcome your criticism and appreciate your defending your husband. But I will continue to tell the truth as I see it,” Bayless tweeted.

No one likes seeing their loved ones attacked on live television and social media. It’s not something most of us could even imagine. Yet, it’s the daily reality for professional athletes and their loved ones.

So, while Russ himself is taking a break from social media, his wife spoke out for him. Perhaps next time, Bayless will think better before taking another shot at the Lakers guard.
