Anthony Davis injury update: When will he play again?

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis got dinged up when playing against the Utah Jazz. With his ankle injured, when will Davis be able to return?

The Los Angeles Lakers are certainly having a, uh, season.

Unfortunately for the Lakers and their fans, this particular season has been marred by injuries while certain members of the roster have underwhelming an uninspiring performances. The latest incident of an injured Lakers star came when Anthony Davis landed awkwardly against the Utah Jazz.

He jumped and went up. Unfortunately, gravity returned him to the ground in a way that his ankle wasn’t fond of. Lakers fans, understandably, panicked and NBA fans on Twitter certainly had a number of thoughts on the matter.

The injury was frightening and it was very concerning seeing Davis on the ground and then struggle to get off the court. Unfortunately, it’s not totally clear when Davis might be able to return.

According to a tweet from Shams Charania, Davis has an ankle sprain. That’s not too bad, all things considered, but it’ll take some time to properly heal. He can’t rush this. Davis has to focus on his health.

And according to Charania’s tweet, Davis will get his ankle checked out again in about a month.

Davis’ injury history is concerning and it’s often the focal point of conversations that surround him and his talent.

While many look at him as if he is an experienced star (and he absolutely is), it’s important to note that he is only 28 years old. He’s been in the NBA for a while, but he still should be in the prime years of his career.

Davis is by far one of the best players in the NBA when he’s healthy. It’d be great to see him rested up and playing at his full potential whenever that may be possible.
