Lakers: LeBron James hit a new milestone

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made history on Thursday night in the team’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Los Angeles Lakers had the odds in their favor on Thursday night, facing a Memphis Grizzlies team without star guard Ja Morant. Coming off a win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, the Lakers could not make it two victories in a row, as they lost to Memphis 108-95. But, LeBron James made history during the game.

After scoring 20 points, dishing out 11 assists and grabbing 10 rebounds, James has now recorded the 100th triple-double of his career. He is now the fifth-player to crack the three-digit milestone.

The other players to record over 100 triple-doubles are teammate Russell Westbrook (189), Oscar Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138) and Jason Kidd (107).

Despite the historic performance by James, it was not enough for the Lakers to pick up the win. Jaren Jackson recorded 25 points (9-for-18 from the field), five rebounds and three steals to help lead Memphis to the victory.

Entering Thursday’s game, James was averaging 25.9 points, 6.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 49.0-percent from the field and 34.0-percent from the three-point line.

Following this loss the Lakers are now 13-13 on the year, sitting in seventh-place in the Western Conference. James and the Lakers will look to get back in the win column on Friday night when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder, the very team that was blown out by 73 points by the Grizzlies this season.
