Draymond Green calls Steph Curry ‘one of the best defenders’ on the Warriors

Draymond Green took the time to praise his Golden State Warriors teammate Steph Curry’s improved play on the defensive end of the floor.

While Steph Curry has been an offensive juggernaut for the Golden State Warriors for going on a decade, his improved defense has caught the attention of teammate Draymond Green.

At the podium, Green said the defensive effort has always been there for Curry, but him reaching and drawing fouls were a major issue for Golden State on that end of the floor. With Green having been the defensive anchor for this team for the better part of the decade, he knows what he is talking about. All the while, Golden State has the best record in basketball at 18-2 on the season.

The Warriors will travel to the Valley of the Sun to take on the red-hot Phoenix Suns, who are a game back of them in the Western Conference standings and winners of 16 in a row.

Golden State Warriors: Draymond Green praises Steph Curry’s defense

The really cool part in Green’s commentary about Curry’s improved defense is it is both multi-faceted and potentially galvanizing for this team’s current core. Golden State had been the preeminent dynasty in the NBA for half a decade. However, the Warriors have not qualified for the NBA Playoffs since losing the 2019 NBA Finals to Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.

Curry will always been an offense-first player. What is interesting is seeing a star player on one end of the floor make a commitment to elevate his entire game to become an even more complete player. It will not be easy for the Warriors to win their fourth NBA championship with Curry, Green, Klay Thompson and Steve Kerr at the helm, but this team has been incredible right out of the gate.

The little things will go a long way towards the Warriors once again being a force in the West.
